Mr. Franchetti discusses Evelle Younger's term as attorney general, comparing it to that of George Deukmejian. He focuses on Mr. Deukmejian's campaign for governor in 1982 and the budget crisis he inherited. As director of finance, Mr. Franchetti implemented Governor Deukmejian's policies through numerous budget cuts in 1983. The interview covers the years 1969 to 1984.
